Violent clashes are taking place between residents and police in the Greek islands of Lesbos and Chios in northeastern Aegean. Residents of the two islands are reacting to government plans to build new “closed” cities – camps for refugees and migrants in their islands, fearing that the government is lying and intends to settle thousands of new refugees and immigrants indefinitely on them.

The number of refugees and immigrants in the islands of the Eastern Aegean is already comparable to the number of their Greek inhabitants, a situation which not only creates huge problems, but it begins to threaten Greek sovereignty in an area of great geopolitical value and importance, which happens also to be the cradle of Greek civilization. It was in this region that the Greek polis (city), Greek philosophy and theater were born. By the way the islands are always under the threat of the – biggest in the world – naval landing force of Turkey, just on the opposite coast of the Aegean, whose only possible mission is a landing on the islands.

Already, a number of organizations such as NATO, Frontex, EU and UN agencies and non-governmental organizations, that no one knows who controls them, are de facto exercising some form of informal sovereignty over the islands. Some  Greek islanders think even to migrate themselves to mainland Greece because of the problems they face.

It should be noted all this situation is not due to some spontaneous movement of masses from conflict zones, but is the result of a process strictly controlled by the Turkish government. On the other hand, the EU is very pleased with the resettlement of refugees and migrants to Greece.

As a result, strong disintegration trends are intensifying in Greek society, especially as it is still under the neo-colonial regime of destruction and pillage imposed on it by the EU, the ECB and the IMF already for ten years now.

Between 2010 and 2015, the Troika seized Greek property and the right of Greece to pursue its own economic policy, while destroying the life of millions of Greeks. After 2015 they are grabbing its geopolitical “surplus value”. In the same time and with the programs being implemented, the Greek population is shrinking demographically, young people are migrating abroad and more and more foreigners are coming to the country. As Mikis Theodorakis once said, the ultimate goal of the neo-colonial enterprise that started in 2010 is a “Greece without Greeks”! By the way Hitler had exactly the same plan during World War II, when he wanted to relocate the Greek population to the Middle East and make Greece a holiday home for the Aryans.
