Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon hailed election results for the European Parliament on Monday and said the idea of further European Union integration was “dead” after gains by far-right nationalist parties.
Bannon, who has sought to build links with European populist parties, also urged them to get over their differences and form a “supergroup” in the parliament in the next month.

Note: What follows is not a thorough analysis of what happened in the last European elections, but just a first look at the results based on politico website and its exit polls
You also may wish to check the results country by country – which is available there.According to that projection, the GUE/NGL (concerning their current composition with Syriza etc.) will be down from 52 MEP’s to 38. Even that should be taken with a ‘grain’ of salt: e.g. the Spanish Unidas Podemos list (6 MEPs) has Greens from Catolonia and Equo on its slate, who might choose to affialiate themselves with the Green group in the EP.
